Courtney is an organized, highly skilled professional with more than 20 years of experience in the educational realm. She began her own studies at the University of Arizona in 1990 where she got her bachelor’s degree in creative writing/English and Humanities. She continued her education at Northern Arizona University, completing a master’s degree in education leadership with a focus on curriculum and instruction. She is in the process of obtaining her PhD in organizational leadership from Grand Canyon University.
Shortly after receiving her teaching certification from Prescott college, Courtney began teaching social studies at St. Michael’s Parish Day School, where she remained for 4 years. In 2004, she began teaching and training at The Charter Foundation where she later became the principal. After 6 years in this position, she was promoted to superintendent where she has been for the past 11 years.
